About Alter Bridge

Alter Bridge are a powerhouse American rock band formed in 2004 in Orlando, Florida. The group was born from the dissolution of Creed, featuring three of its former members — Mark Tremonti (guitar), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums) — alongside rising vocal phenom Myles Kennedy, who brought a new dynamic to the band’s sonic identity. Known for their blend of hard rock, post-grunge, and progressive influences, Alter Bridge quickly developed a reputation for intelligent songwriting, musical virtuosity, and emotionally resonant lyrics.

Their 2004 debut album One Day Remains introduced their signature sound with hits like “Open Your Eyes,” but it was 2007’s Blackbird that cemented their legacy. The title track, “Blackbird,” is considered one of the band’s finest achievements — featuring a soaring dual guitar solo and deeply moving lyrics that resonate with fans worldwide. The song has often been ranked among the best rock tracks of the 21st century.

Across their discography — including albums such as AB III, Fortress, The Last Hero, Walk the Sky, and Pawns & Kings — Alter Bridge has continually pushed creative boundaries. Their music oscillates between introspective ballads, like “Watch Over You” and “Ghost of Days Gone By,” and adrenaline-charged anthems such as “Isolation,” “Addicted to Pain,” and “Rise Today.”

Live, Alter Bridge is a force to be reckoned with. Myles Kennedy’s exceptional vocal range and stage presence, combined with Tremonti’s world-class guitar work, make their shows electric and immersive. The band is known for delivering tight, emotionally intense sets that blend technical precision with raw passion — a formula that has earned them global acclaim and a loyal international fanbase.

As of 2026, Alter Bridge remain at the forefront of the hard rock scene. Their live shows are not just concerts — they’re journeys, driven by honest lyricism, complex melodies, and an unwavering connection with their fans. Their return to 3Arena Dublin is one of the most anticipated rock events of the year.

Alter Bridge Trivia:

  • The band’s name comes from a bridge near Tremonti’s childhood home in Detroit — a place he was told not to cross as a child.
  • Myles Kennedy also serves as the lead singer for Slash’s solo band, featuring members of Guns N’ Roses.
  • “Blackbird” was voted the Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time by Guitarist Magazine readers in 2011.
  • The band frequently alternates between full-on arena tours and intimate acoustic performances.
  • Alter Bridge’s fanbase includes both classic rock purists and younger metalheads, reflecting their broad appeal.
