About Florence & The Machine

Florence & The Machine emerged as one of the most distinctive and emotionally charged acts of the 21st century, blending baroque pop, art rock, and soulful intensity. Founded in London in 2007, the band is led by the unmistakable voice and vision of Florence Welch, whose ethereal energy and poetic lyricism have captivated audiences across the globe. Their breakout came with the 2009 debut album Lungs, featuring the iconic single Dog Days Are Over, which catapulted the group into international acclaim and earned them a BRIT Award for Best Album.

Over the years, Florence & The Machine have continued to evolve sonically and emotionally through critically acclaimed releases such as Ceremonials (2011), How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015), High as Hope (2018), and Dance Fever (2022). Each record showcases Welch’s ability to weave themes of love, spirituality, grief, and empowerment into sweeping, cinematic arrangements that feel both intimate and epic. Her live performances are renowned for their intensity — often described as a fusion of theatrical ritual and indie rock spectacle, where Florence seems to channel something transcendent through every movement and note.

The band’s return to Ireland in June 2026 marks a milestone for Irish fans. Having previously performed unforgettable shows in Dublin’s 3Arena and Electric Picnic, Florence & The Machine are now set to take the stage at Thomond Park in Limerick — their biggest outdoor Irish performance to date. Expect a setlist that spans their entire discography, with anthems like Shake It Out, You’ve Got the Love, and King resonating through the open air. The night will also feature the haunting beauty of tracks from Dance Fever, an album inspired by pre-Raphaelite art, medieval mysticism, and post-pandemic rebirth.

Audiences can anticipate a production rich in visual storytelling, complete with atmospheric lighting, floating drapes, and moments of total immersion where Welch’s voice soars over the crowd. This is not just a concert — it’s an experience that celebrates connection, emotion, and the transformative power of music. With Thomond Park’s acoustics and Florence’s dramatic stagecraft, fans are in for one of the most spellbinding live events of the summer.
