Book NowKingfishr are rapidly becoming one of Ireland’s most essential new acts, fusing sweeping folk textures with ambient indie and soaring choruses. Known for their emotionally resonant songwriting, the trio have built an impressive following since their debut single “flowers-fire” first gained traction online. Formed in Limerick by three university friends — Eddie (vocals, guitar), McGoo (banjo), and Fitz (keys/guitar) — the group draws inspiration from the Irish landscape and storytelling traditions, delivering music that feels both grounded and cinematic. Their upcoming performance at Malahide Castle on 13 June 2026 represents a major step in their meteoric rise. From student gigs to headlining one of Dublin’s most beloved outdoor venues, Kingfishr’s growth has been fuelled by authentic live shows and word-of-mouth acclaim. Their set is expected to include hit singles like “eyes-don’t-lie”, “heart in the water”, and “shadow in the mirror”, along with tracks from their debut full-length album slated for release later this year. Kingfishr’s sound is often described as a blend between Dermot Kennedy, Ben Howard, and Bear’s Den — though their distinctive use of ambient banjo, layered harmonies, and spacious arrangements has set them apart in the Irish indie-folk scene. They’ve become known for crafting emotional landscapes through music — the kind that swells slowly, crests dramatically, and lingers long after the final note. Their lyrics often explore themes of identity, belonging, loss, and redemption. In concert, the band brings these themes to life with heartfelt performances, immersive lighting, and genuine audience connection. At Malahide Castle, fans can expect a full-scale production: curated visuals, ambient lighting design, and extended versions of their most-loved songs. It’s not just a performance — it’s a narrative experience. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a newcomer to their sound, this show promises to be a defining live moment for Kingfishr and their audience. Their music was made for venues like Malahide Castle — intimate yet expansive, rooted in nature, and full of Irish soul.About Kingfishr
