Travel Made Easy – Bus to Metallica at Aviva Stadium

With tens of thousands expected to descend on Dublin for Metallica’s double-headline shows at Aviva Stadium on 19th and 21st June 2026, getting to the venue can be as daunting as the show is loud. Irish Concert Travel eliminates that stress by providing a same-day return bus to Metallica at Aviva Stadium from regions across Ireland. Leave the parking queues and last-train panic behind — and travel with fellow fans, directly to the gates.

All coaches are timed to arrive at the stadium before doors open, so you have plenty of time to get through security, grab merch, or enjoy the festival-style atmosphere that surrounds a Metallica stadium event. With increased city congestion expected on both nights, particularly around Ballsbridge and Lansdowne Road, our drivers use the most efficient access points and drop-off areas, ensuring a smooth arrival just minutes from the venue entrances.

The Aviva Stadium is situated in Dublin 4, and is well-serviced by major roadways, but on gig nights parking is extremely limited and nearby roads often experience partial closures. Taking the coach avoids all of that — no need to drive into the city, no overnight hotel required, and no scrambling for a post-show taxi that might cost more than your gig ticket.

Helpful travel tips:

  • Arrive at your chosen pickup location at least 10–15 minutes before the scheduled time
  • Bring a copy or screenshot of your booking confirmation to show the driver
  • Alcohol is not permitted onboard our services
  • Hot Food and Hot Drinks are not permitted onboard our services
  • To locate the Coach after the concert ends we recommend passengers send themselves their current whatsapp location when exiting the bus and to take the drivers number

Our services operate along the most direct routes to the concerts, and we have limited the number of collection/drop off points, with the aim of reducing the travel times to and from your favourite events.

Irish Concert Travel reserves the right to adjust travel routes as necessary to optimise efficiency and scheduling.

Coach seats will sell out fast for both June 19th and 21st — don’t wait. Lock in your travel now for the return bus to Metallica at Aviva Stadium and make your journey part of the metal experience.

About Metallica

Metallica are one of the most influential and enduring bands in the history of heavy music. Since their formation in Los Angeles in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, the band has become synonymous with thrash metal and hard rock, crafting a legacy built on aggression, technical prowess, and a relentless drive to evolve. Over four decades, Metallica has sold over 125 million albums worldwide and earned a devoted fanbase that spans generations.

Their 1980s output — including genre-defining releases like “Kill ’Em All,” “Ride the Lightning,” “Master of Puppets,” and “…And Justice for All” — reshaped metal by combining speed, precision, and lyrical depth. In 1991, the band broke through to a massive mainstream audience with the self-titled “Black Album,” featuring timeless anthems such as “Enter Sandman,” “The Unforgiven,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Sad But True.”

Metallica’s ability to stay relevant and reinvent their sound without losing their identity has kept them at the forefront of music culture. Albums like “St. Anger,” “Death Magnetic,” and “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct” have explored darker, experimental, and more personal themes, while their 2023 release “72 Seasons” was praised for balancing modern aggression with classic thrash elements.

Live, Metallica are a force of nature. Their performances are marked by colossal production values, jaw-dropping visuals, and a stamina that belies their decades-long career. Whether they’re playing deep cuts for diehards or delivering crowd-pleasers to 80,000 fans in a stadium, Metallica give every audience a show that’s as physical as it is emotional.

Their return to Aviva Stadium in June 2026 marks a new chapter in their relationship with Irish fans. With two different setlists across both nights — a signature feature of their “No Repeat Weekend” format — each show offers a completely unique experience. That means different songs, different energy, and twice the opportunity to witness one of the most important bands in modern music history.

Trivia You Might Not Know About Metallica:

  • The band’s bassist Cliff Burton died in a bus accident in Sweden in 1986 — his legacy continues to influence their music to this day.
  • Metallica were the first band to perform on all seven continents, including a 2013 concert in Antarctica for scientists at Carlini Base.
  • They founded their own music festival, Orion Music + More, which featured metal, indie, punk, and even comedy.
  • Lead guitarist Kirk Hammett is also an avid horror memorabilia collector and has published a book featuring his collection.
  • Their song “One” was the band’s first music video and won a Grammy Award in 1990.
  • In 2009, Metallica were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.
